Form for Confession

This form helps you to put down your sins and follow the steps in Confession.  Please be sure God loves and forgives us every time we sincerely confess our sin in the sacrament of Penance. 

HOW TO CONFESS YOUR SINS

1) You begin with The Sign of the Cross.
2) Say, "Bless me Father for I have sinned. It has been _____ weeks/ months since my last Confession."

3) Here are my sins:

Please forgive the sins I forgot.

4) Father will give his advice and give you penance, then say the Absolution prayer. While he is giving Absolution, say the Act of Contrition:

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against You Whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with Your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In His name, my God, have mercy.

5) Make sure to remember your penance and say “Thank You Father.”
